Champions Deposed

After two Championship titles in recent years (not played in 2020) Hampshire’s ‘reserves’ slipped to mid-way this year but some of the players certainly impressed in the RL Cup.

This table has been sent to me by Don Starr who puts considerable effort into such work. There are ‘other’ versions of this floating around which, for example, fail to show Yorkshire as Champions because they don’t divide points by games played (most points – Notts and Glams but more games played).

Accept no substitute – and MANY thanks to Don:

Thanks Don & Tigger. Very interesting. Was Petrie (on a “rookie” contract) injured nearly all season? Notable that hardly any centuries or 5-fers occurred away from home. Hopefully the high achievers will emulate the generation of Vince, Dawson, Wood, Briggs, Howell etc.in our 1st XI soon.
According to most recent “official” information Donald and Organ appear to be out of contract, but has there been an update?

Comment by Ian White

No idea about those contracts but yes, Petrie (leading 2nd XI T20 wicket-taker) was injured through second half of 2022
